Sense of Searching

Sense Of Searching takes a minimalist approach to time but tries to cram in the maximum amount of ambiences, messages and musical variety. Overlapping all kinds of musical genres, Paul Jauker uses all manner of sounds and rhythmic creation that he is able to handle.
The multi-instrumentalist takes up the guitar, saxophone, bass, synthesiser, percussion, sampler and lets the vocal chords vibrate in every possible accentuation and style.
From conscience-blowing tracks like ‘OK’,  to breakbeat thunderstorms such as ‘Vazerrts Büd’ and rocky rap-mixtures and ballad-like rain clouds, everything is possible here.
The song structure consciously denies conventional courses of action as ‘verse-chorus-verse-chorus’. The compositions behaviour is more suited to a kind of wave, that exaggerates over and over, only to collapse again and to regain new power. Also, each of the seven tracks float into each other and bring about a dark thread thought the whole debut EP ‘Sense Of Searching-SoS’. Retaining the original upper-Austrian slang , the lyrics assimilate cynicism and antithesis in modern society, apathy and dissociation from oneself, central questions of life and the philosophy of the microcosm. For Paul Jauker, who is also responsible for the Rap Artist ‘Polifame’ (Polifame-Frischluft released in 2008 on Duzz Down San Records), Sense Of Searching is a snapshot and a logical consequence of the world’s influence on a person who feels abused by social norms.
The live experience of ‘Sense of Searching’ consists of Martin Wieshofer on guitars and bass, Daniel Gschwendtner on piano, bass and synthesisers, Mario Gschwendtner on drums and Paul Jauker on vocals, saxophone, percussion and samples. The constitution of the band changes rapidly during the improvisation parts.

The EP’ Sense Of Searching-SOS’ will be released on Duzz Down San Records as an limited edition 500 pieces EP and digitally in spring 2011.
