Red Bull Beats and Rhymes in Wien – das ist ein Sample, ein Thema und 60 Minuten Produktionszeit: Anhand dieser Zutaten mussten fünf gegeneinander antretenden Hip Hop-Crews, für uns gingen die HSC ins Rennen, das Publikum in den Wiener Pratergalerien auf ihre Seite bringen. Es ging nicht um Einzelkämpfertum oder groß angelegtes Gegeneinander, sondern um faires Kräftemessen, Kreativität, Spontanität und musikalischem Können. MC Manuva, Host des diesjährigen Red Bull Beats & Rhymes, empfing das Wiener Hip Hop Publikum mit einem punktgenauen: „Das Schicksal der Rapper und Producer liegt in Eurer Hand!“. Am Ende gewannen Def Ill & Digga Mindz, die mit ihrer kompromisslosen Interpretation die Stimmung vor den rund 350 begeisterten Zusehern im den Prater-Galerien zum Überkochen brachten.
